Health wise, I've been doing ok. No major issues to date for me so far. I pray this continues for the foreseeable future as Sharon's Parkinsons is holding fairly steady with a few exceptions. She's has had a couple more bad falls, one fall which fractured four ribs that put her in Intensive Care for a week. Sharon is a little head strong and insists she is more capable of moving about but forgets her lack a stability and leaves her walker abandoned. It's an ongoing argument. There are those who strongly believe Sharon should be in a nursing facility. However, we live among the wheat fields here and I sense the presents of cayotes circling waiting for a vulneraility.
The weather here has again been mild this Fall and appears we are headed for another mild winter. We received one inch of snow so far and that didn't last more than a few days. This prompted me to get the snowblower mounted on the JD garden tractor. Since, there has been no further threat of snow. Go figure! I held off putting the snow tires on the truck until a few days ago. I thought to myself, "if I put the tires on, we won't get any winter this year like last year". So far, it seems to be holding true... no new snow since. *sigh* I am really looking forward to blow snow with our new snow blower. *grin* Last year we only received 3-4" inches one day which was enough to try out the snow blower. Wow! It blows the snow 20-30ft depending on position of out spout. What fun!! *smile* Prior years, I used JD with front bucket which worked but required more time to pile show up in middle of circle driveway. The snowblower now blows snow far enough that it doesn't require repeated passes to get it out of the way.
That's about it for this edit. Play hard, live fair, hope you and yours stay healthy in 2026. *smile*
That was our holiday season of 2024. We did not receive any snow this year for the holidays. I hurried to get the snow blower mounted on our John Deere X590 mower in anticipation of this year's snow fall. We recieved a tiny skift of snow that quickly melted off within a few hours. We received 3.27in of rain fall in the month of December 2024 of which only tiny amount was attributed to a skift of snow fall. I'm worried 2025 winter is going to be warmer than usual thus "bug kill" will be a minimum. When you live in the county as we do, bug kill is a blessing keeping paper wasps and mosquito numbers down. I'll just have to stock up on bug spray next Spring. *smile*
That's about it for this entry. Sharon & I are doing as best as we can. Sharon has had a couple bad falls, the most recent she fractured her left wrist. Her doctor gave her a wrist splint to wear to keep it immobile, but it is a struggle to encourage her to keep it on. When she takes it off, she bumps it causing her more pain. She's better at keeping it on, but she's pretty stuborn when it causes her issues, it comes off.
With that, Sharon and I wish you all a safe and wonderful 2025. Pray that World War Three can be averted... *sigh*
